Deuteronomy 17:19

'And he shall read in it all the days of his life...'

Deuteronomy 17:19

Yes, and are we left to wonder what 'it' is?

Is it the Bible itself?

Or the sacred mystery of creation?

The 'radical amazement' that we are even alive? That we exist.

The 'myserium tremendum' as the Protestant theologans described our world?

Or, may we interpret this as our own personal histories, our experiences?

Do we 'read' from our own learning, our self-knowledge, our reflections?

Our being.

Is this the 'thing in-itself' for which the theologians have been searching?

Were the early rabbis merely another form of yogic sages?

Writing to reflect upon their reflections?

The Bible creating a life-long spiritual inner yogic posture?

Cleansing and refining the soul through deeply immersed thought?

'for all the days of our lives'...
